To unite her sons of diverse races

Bonded in her sacred Constitution

Sealed with a vision of visionaries:

Heartbeat of Malaysian Independence

Harmonious people living a destiny

Fathered by peace-champions of prudence

Charted a future in a land of opportunity

Freed from colonialism and insurgency

‘Jalur Gemilang’ raised, we stood proud

Locked hands, blood-sweated, tilled this land of glory

Tin, rubber, paddy, and business: wealth wrought

‘Negara Ku’ united sons: ploughed morrow’s victory

Fast-stepped fifty-seven years birthing prosperity

One Nation, One People, thriving democratically

Unique diversity, weaved in socio-cultural unity

Community-knitting earned a heaven, politically

Mother Malaysia’s sons must defend her honour

Never to give in to some lackadaisical extremism

Never chance to wipeout peace, earned to this hour

Never swing far left to crush precious nationalism

Strengthen the very cords of social fabric

Guard anxiously against evils of destruction

Honour the socio-politico conscience of public

Be courageous: defend rights, and fight corruption

Be vigilant of the faceless enemy within

Who’d gnaw at the very pillars of national unity

Making way for an insurgent ideology to creep in

Wrecking what’s been built in one national calamity!

Sons, rise up to defend beloved Mother Malaysia!

If you don’t carry ‘Jalur Gemilang’ high, who will?

If you don’t proudly sing ‘Negara Ku’ now, when will you?

If your ‘Mother’ faces danger, would you carelessly stand still?

If you do, you are a callous soul; not a son, then who are you?
